"Can I Stay Here Forever"
Through forgotten convictions
Misplaced affections
I'm losing the sound of Your voice
I've been chasing after emptiness
Trying to tidy up this mess
I swear I've been down this road before
I want to get back to where it all began
When I would long for only You
Like a child I'll take You at Your word
As these mountains of doubt, they fade away
I'm longing to trust and love You more
So for me this is beautiful
A brand new thought, and a brand new world
Can I stay here forever here with You?
I've lost sight of what first drew me
To the love that pursued me
The joy that inspired my song
The friendship that was all I knew
The arms that I would fall into
Seem miles and years from where I am today
I got to get back to where it all began
When I would wait for only You
Can I stay here forever
Here with you?
Surrounded by Your mercy
Clothed in Your truth
Always, I'll stay
Always here with You
Can I be here forever
Here with You?
Can I know what it's like
To deeply love You?
Always, Lord, let me stay
Always, here with You
I'm quite sure I'm in love with these lyrics.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder- I was so caught up in not trying to get caught in the commercialization of Christmas, I forgot to look at the bigger picture- the fact that it's not just the birth of Jesus we celebrate, but the fact that He came to earth as a human.
Wow, that was quite the run-on sentence.
quite a surprise to see that andrew didnt comment. (yet?) HAHA.
ReplyDeleteyeah, so i was talking to my new friend about Christmas and everything, and he's like 'oh, i dont like christmas, it's just all too commercialized. It should be about the religion and not about presents.' (he's not christian)
then i started to say how i like christmas cause of the break from school and etc. i never got the guts to say it's cause i'm Christian. :(
maybe next time. hahah. i'll be more bold.
-a.
I love how we're both obviously procrastinating from studying for finals here.
ReplyDeleteSo my friend was interviewing me for the school paper, and the question was what my favourite Christmas song was and why. I was gonna say something with a good Nativity message, but I pulled back last minute and decided to give her a more "newsworthy" answer...of how I like to name my snowmen Parson Brown.
Oh, the lack of courage...
well, here I am... to reply.. :P
ReplyDeleteI begin to believe that it is human nature to forget things, especially the main point of an event, a problem or a belief. Think back in arguments, they usually get drift away into something else and the same goes to regular discussions. At least for myself, I tend to lose track of the real goal when I am discussing things with others, like at work. And yes, I believe I forgot the point of Christmas is to celebrate that God came down to birth as human, rather I only remmeber it as the birth of Christ, the saviour.
Now my challenge to you and whoever reads this message (including myself). We often write a lot of things that we forget, like being patient, remember God is everywhere, we need to worship Him, this and that. How can we keep them in our hearts and never forget again?
PS, yes you two, go back to study! before I nag my way into your heads. *stares at amy*
I listened to the song maybe... 5 times by now, I still can't really hear the lyrics.... argh... *replay*
