Hey, lookies! My first blog here! :D
So anyway, the reason why I'm blogging here is because, well, I have this friend, who I believe desperately needs to have God in her life..
I mean, she's had all these problems for a long time. They stress her out and they've made her into a very unhappy person. She seems happy on the outside, but she's always thinking negatively about things, not believing in herself, and only depending on her friends to help her get through. So right now, I'm talking to her on MSN and stuff, and she mentioned how I don't need to worry about the things that she has to.
(Before this, I had been telling her how she needs to think positively, everything has a positive side and that she can't always think that there will be someone to guide her when it comes to things like this because sometimes there won't be anyone. (Keep in mind that this friend is a non-Christian, although she has Christian beliefs and is practically a Christian-yet-not-a-Christian, 'cause that totally made sense, yeah.))
Kay, so back to the worrying about things. I told her that, sure, yeah, I do worry about things, but for those things, I trust my friends and myself to work on getting through it, and for the other things, I need to learn to trust myself to be able to fix it, and that that was the part that she needed to learn. I then asked her about what kinds of problems she meant and she said "School.. Life... Everything." I told her, that she needs to make attempts to fix them, to think positively and trust that you wil pull thorugh, but she said that she didn't know how to fix them, how to pull through and that she can't even control most of these things.
So I told her, that that's why she needed to have trust... but she didn't know what to trust, "Trust what? The air?! ..." was her response. I told her, that I trust in myself and in God. But she isn't Christian, so she didn't even know what to say to that. Her response (quoted, from just now): "I don't even know what to say to that... I'm not Christian... -_-"
This whole time, I was thinking, she really needs to be introduced to God. For myself, when I have problems, I pray to God and know that eventually, he will help me pull through. Right now, I think that this friend of mine REALLY needs to find God in her life... so you guys, if you can, pray for her please. And I haven't even replied to what she said, because I don't know how to tell her that I think she should become a Christian.. maybe I'll just say it. o___o
So yeah, pray for her! :)
Thanks!
- Vessi
EDIT: I posted this at 11:11! xD
yay! first blog.
ReplyDeletethe first thing that came to mind is how similar this is to my friend..
Will keep her in my prayers.
welcome to the blog, i m a samuel blog stalker :)
ReplyDeletequick question, you posted this at 11:11 or 1:11? :P um.. you guys can sure stay up late...i mean "early"
my first question is... if you are desperate to introduce your friend to christianity, have you tried to invite her to Samuel or school fellowship? it's not easy for them to put trust in something they don't see. i remember i had that problem before. take it slowly, step by step. of course, praying for her is definitely a good idea, but need some practical steps as well
problems with school...life...everything... it's the same for every student, except they just have something different.. we, as christians, are very lucky, because when we are in trouble, we can put our faith in God, and what's even better is even when we are not in trouble, we can still put our faith in God, isn't that wonderful? God is reliable.
second question, what if you pray to God and your problems are not solved? what are you going to do then?
last question, mayyyyyyyyybe, you can invite her to the youth camp this summer?
There are many problems in life we cannot trust ourselves or others because no one can see far enough into the future, but God can. God is the one who created us, mold us, and lead us.
ReplyDeleteAsk if she knows where she comes from? From her parents, of course...but what is life? Does she believe there is a God who is in control, gives us air, life, soul & spirit? God who loves us and will even sacrifice himself on the cross for our sins? Encourage her to come back to God and put our trust in Him. He is the one who can see far and beyond, bless us, protect us and guide us.
Of course, if she is confused whether there is God who makes this universe...encourage her to attend to our workshop on June 19 at Samuel - Creation vs. Evolution.
God bless. Will keep her and you in prayer.
"Influence" her! :)
Amy: kk thank you! :D :)
ReplyDeleteDrew: oops. LOL. there goes to show how much my brain can function at 1:11 am. -cough- :P yeah, my friend and i have a plan to invite her to our fellowship and that friend will come too (since she's a christian) and we decided to bring her to our church instead my friend's church because there are more people from aci here. :D & she's not the type to go camping lol. :D
Tina: :/ i tried talking to her about the bible but she just said that it was ticking her off. and that she doesn't feel comfortable when people talk to her about the bible. :S
oh, how i can relate.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see that you're trying whatever you can. I understand that you need a small, slow start somewhere. Bring her like, next week during a teamwork challenge thing or something...something light where she can get used to the environment at least.
P.S. It's encouraging to see you talking about trust RIGHT after our bible study. haha.
thanks for blogging :]
that's nice... my only response to that is just to tell her to come to samuel... dont be discouraged in introducing her to our God who is also her God whom she has not known... remember that He is the God of the universe... so in that sense, it's not like u have a God cause u're Christian and she doesnt because she's not Christian or a buddhist has Buddha, etc... be wise and know what it means to talk about ur beliefs and at the same time dont disrespeting others'..
